Why does Lewis do poorly in school and tend to lose and forget things?

  1. I thinks Lewis can't do anything else. I think he is mentally challenged, because he is always sweet talked to at 10. That is how I imagine mentally challenged children being treated.

  2. Lewis does bad in school because he didn't believe that he could do good. Once he spelled their right he got faith in himself and started to do good and remember things. He was always smart he just didn't think he was.

  3. Lewis does poorly in school and forgets things a lot because he thinks too literal and is right to the point. When he goes to bed every night, Lewis keeps a hat on just to keep his head straight. He also thinks that "cleaning the attic" means cleaning the storage room in the roof.

  4. I think that he does poorly in school because he doesn't think that he can do better in school. I think that he doesn't care about school and doesn't believe in himself. i don't think he knows he is capable of being good in school until he spells their correctly.

  5. i agree with BEAST. Lewis does poorly i[n school and tends to forget things because he doesn't have faith in himself. on pg. 48, bottom, his teacher is surprised that he enjoys pygmies.

  7. I think Lewis does poorly in school because before he met Miss Fitchlow and Mr. Madruga all the adults told him how he felt or how he should feel which he hates. At school his teachers critisize him all he time. I can make a text-to-self connection because I used to have a teacher that critisized me all the time and I did worse than usual. I think Lewis tends to forget things because hes just one of those people. I also tend to forget things alot.

  8. Have you ever been in a situation where you felt like Lewis?

  9. Lewis does poorly in school, because he probably has to much on his mind. Maybe he doesn't believe that he can do well when he actually can.

  10. I agree with Matt, I also think Lewis is mentally challenged. He cannot focus very well because he is always thinking about family stuff and about his social life. Sometimes he can focus though, when his social life conflicts with his school work.

  11. I have never been in a situation when I felt like Lewis. Self confidence could make his personality so much more brigher.
